Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park (MCKIP), inaugurated on February 5, 2013, holds a strategic position within the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) special economic zone in Kuantan, Pahang.<\/p>\n
Encompassing a substantial 14.2 sq.km (3,500 acres), MCKIP is subdivided into MCKIP 1 (1,200 acres), MCKIP 2 (1,000 acres), and MCKIP 3 (1,300 acres). MCKIP 1 and 2 cater to heavy and medium industries, while MCKIP 3 accommodates logistics, light industries, and residential and commercial components.<\/p>\n
MCKIP emerges from a collaboration between Malaysia Consortium and China Consortium. It is twinned with the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park<\/a> (CMQIP) in Qinzhou, China. This synergy is defined as “Two Countries, Twin Parks.”<\/p>\n As a pivotal instrument for foreign investment, MCKIP bolsters local employment and drives regional economic advancement.<\/p>\n MCKIP hosts a spectrum of industries, including:<\/p>\n Steel and Non-ferrous Metals MCKIP offers compelling incentives to attract investments:<\/p>\n MCKIP has the distinction of being Malaysia’s first “National Industrial Park.” Jointly developed by Malaysia and China, it follows the successful model of CMQIP. Encompassing 685 hectares, MCKIP attracts high-end industries from across the globe, leveraging its proximity to Kuantan Port and other industrial parks in ECER.<\/p>\n Premier Wen Jiabao of China introduced the CMQIP concept in April 2011, receiving full support from Prime Minister Dato Sri Najib Tun Razak of Malaysia. In April 2012, the two governments established the counterpart to CMQIP in Malaysia – MCKIP.<\/p>\n On February 5, 2013, leaders from both nations inaugurated MCKIP, solidifying a bilateral commitment. MCKIP, alongside CMQIP, sets a precedent as the first “Two Countries, Twin Parks” initiative.<\/p>\n MCKIP, Malaysia’s premier National Industrial Park, occupies 3,500 acres in Gebeng Industrial Area, Kuantan. Its location is 5km from Kuantan Port<\/a>, 25km from the town, 40km from\u00a0Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Airport,<\/a> 250km from Kuala Lumpur. MCKIP strategically links to Kuantan Port, ensuring swift connectivity to Qinzhou Port and other Chinese ports.<\/p>\n MCKIP, conceived across three phases covering 14.2 sq km, encompasses commercial, logistics, and support zones. The project is a joint venture between leading Chinese and Malaysian enterprises, with both nations holding shares in a collaboration spanning land development, infrastructure, and investment.<\/p>\n Strategically positioned in ECER, facing the South China Sea, MCKIP harnesses its proximity to Kuantan Port for amplified growth potential in ASEAN, Asia Pacific, and global markets.
