Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone (VSEZ) is a major industrial center in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. It was established in the year 1989 and is spread over 360 acres of prime land. VSEZ offers state-of-the-art infrastructure and support services for a hassle-free business environment. VSEZ is a multi-product SEZ and offers infrastructure facilities for hassle-free business operations. It is located in Duvvada, 20 km away from Visakhapatnam. The zone offers fully developed plots of varying sizes, which are allotted on a lease basis through competitive bidding methodology. The reserve price fixed for lease rentals is Rs. 163 per square meter per annum, to be paid on a quarterly basis, with an annual 10% enhancement in lease rent<\/p>\n
The SEZ Scheme allows state governments, private firms, and individuals to develop multiproduct SEZs in 1000 hectares, sector-specific SEZs in 100 hectares, and IT\/ITES, biotechnology, non-conventional energy, and gem\/jewelry SEZs in 10 hectares of contiguous land.<\/p>\n
The administrative head of the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone is the Development Commissioner, who is also the Zonal Head for all Special Economic Zones and Export Oriented Units in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, and Yanam (Union Territory). VSEZ offers a range of support services, including modern banking facilities, post office services, courier services, dining and creche facilities for workers, railway siding facility for raw materials, and abundant dwelling houses within the vicinity of the zone .<\/p>\n
