Imam Khomeini International Airport

Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport is the primary international airport of Tehran, the capital city of Iran. It is located 30 kilometres southwest of Tehran. All international flights in Tehran, with the exception of Hajj charters, fly from this airport. All domestic flights use Mehrabad Airport. The airport ranks third in terms of total passenger traffic in Iran after Tehran Mehrabad Airport and Mashhad Airport. The airport is operated by the Iran Airports Company and is the primary operating base for Iran Air and Mahan Air.

IKA Airport is a hub for Iran Air and Mahan Air. 

Tehran Airport handled 8,825,646 passengers in 2018. IKA Airport is one of the busiest airports in the country.┬áThe airport serves as the main hub for Iranian carriers including Iran Air, Caspian Airlines, Mahan Air and Meraj Airlines. The carriers operate to destinations in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, the CIS, the Indian Subcontinent and South East Asia. Imam Khomeini International is operated by Imam Khomeini Airport City Company, a state-owned entity under Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
