All-Female Flight Lands at Mashhad International Airport
Iranian aviation marked a historic milestone as an all-female flight crew piloted a flight carrying 110 distinguished women to Mashhad International Airport. Operated by Aseman Airlines, the flight, named “Iran Banoo”, was captained by Shahrazad Shams, Iran’s first female pilot.
The flight landed at 10:15 AM on Mother’s Day and Women’s Day in Iran, which coincides with the birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatimah Zahra. Passengers, all accomplished women, traveled to Mashhad to visit the holy shrine of Imam Reza.
This event marked the first all-female flight in Iran, both in terms of crew and passengers. Mashhad International Airport, the second-busiest airport in Iran after Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport, handles 180 flights daily, peaking at 250 flights during busy travel periods.
