Prai Industrial Estate is one of the major industrial parks in Penang, Malaysia. It covers a wide area bordered by the Prai River in the northwest. Jalan Baru Perai to the north, Sungai Juru to the east, and the Penang Channel to the southwest.
The Prai Industrial Estates was established in the 1970s in response to the need of expanding upon earlier estates such as Mak Mandin. With limited land area on Penang Island, the choice was to turn the coastal area of Prai into a major industrial area. This is further boosted when the Penang Bridge was completed connecting the island. With improved access to the Penang International Airport, many more companies set up factories in the area.
