Sundar Industrial Estate (SIE), inaugurated in February 2007, is a flagship project of the Punjab Industrial Estate Development & Management Company (PIEDMC) under the Industries, Commerce, Investment & Skills Development Department (ICI&SDD) of the Government of Punjab. Spanning across 1,750 acres of land, SIE serves as an “island of facilitation” for prospective industrialists, providing a platform for seamless operations.
With over 566 factories in production and more than 22 nearing completion, Sundar Industrial Estate showcases its significance as a thriving industrial hub. The estate, comprising 1,763 acres of land, contributes significantly to the economy by generating employment for 70,000 to 80,000 individuals. The seamless “One Window” operation approach ensures that issues faced by industrialists are promptly handled and resolved.
Investor-Friendly Policies at Sundar Industrial Estate
To ensure a secure and conducive environment for investors, Sundar Industrial Estate follows a structured process. When signing the Land User Agreement, investors are required to contribute a security deposit, which is a specified percentage of the total capital cost. If the lease is not renewed after 30 years, the deposit is reimbursed. The estate’s operation and upkeep are overseen by PIEDMC/FIEDMC, while investors are responsible for monthly operating and maintenance charges per acre to cover real expenses. These charges increase annually in line with the current inflation rate.
