Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate, spanning 565 acres, stands as one of Punjab’s largest planned industrial estates. Housing 477 industrial plots ranging from 0.5 to 5 hectares, it accommodates diverse industries, including textiles, auto parts, pharmaceuticals, food, and more. The estate is a significant employer, engaging around 50,000 workers, including approximately 10,000 female employees.

Established in 1960 under the Pakistani and Canadian Joint Assistance Program as ‘Township Industrial Estate,’ it aimed at fostering industrial growth and urban development in Lahore. Initially under the Department of Housing and Physical Planning, Punjab government, the estate’s control transferred to Lahore Development Authorities in 1993. In 2004, the Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) took charge, renaming it Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate.

Phases of Development of Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate

Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate has undergone Phase I completion, with Phase-II nearing its conclusion. The ongoing efforts aim to transform the estate into a model, setting standards for perfection and long-lasting impact.

Situated in the Sundar area of Lahore, covering approximately 1,500 acres, the estate benefits from easy accessibility via the Lahore Ring Road. Its strategic location has made it a preferred choice for businesses seeking establishment in the region.

Recent Developments and Recognitions

As of February 04, 2022, Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) granted special zone enterprise status to 16 companies holding industrial plots in Quaid-e-Azam Business Park Sheikhupura and Vehari Industrial Estates. This recognition underscores the estate’s role in fostering industrial activities and economic growth in the region.
