King Abdullah Economic City

King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), founded by King Abdullah in 2006 represents one of the main manifestations of the Vision 2030 strategy to diversify the kingdom away from dependence on oil & gas. The 181 square kilometre new city will include Industrial Valley which will focus on six key clusters namely FMCG, Pharmaceuticals, Logistics, Plastics, Building materials and Automotive.

The Industrial Valley will be supported by the King Abdullah Port located in KAEC which will provide potential for export led manufacturers. It will have a capacity of 20 millions TEU when complete. The recent completion of the Haramain High Speed Railway linking the city with Mecca, Medina and Jeddah will be a further advantage for companies setting up.
